Knowledge Discovery & Informatics at PNNL
PNNL's Knowledge Discovery & Informatics capabilities provide expertise in 'Knowledge-Based Information Analytics', the science of analytical reasoning facilitated by the tools and techniques of cognitive science, social and behavioral science, semantic systems, and human-information interaction.
Our efforts range from cutting-edge research to fully deployed systems, including incorporation of complex legacy systems. As the management of knowledge is fundamental to the research process, our staff and associated projects span a wide array of technical disciplines and application areas. At the core of our work is the ability to identify, extract, represent, organize, synthesize, and retrieve knowledge.
Research and development performed by our staff is funded by a number of government agencies and industry partners. For more information, please review the links to the left. To discuss how our Knowledge Discovery & Informatics staff can apply the strength and depth of a National Laboratory to your problem set, please contact Andrew Cowell.
